King Shinki is the reluctant leader of the Halflings of Kirth. The small folk foisted the crown and title of "Defender of the Hills" upon Shinki after something as simple and small as killing a young dragon who rudely interrupted their festival, and thence, his beer. While they knew little about his past, they learned in that moment that he was mighty and fearless. His adventures alongside the likes of Dafiq, Creech, Draxxor, Anmon and the other heroes of Kirth were both a blessing, and a curse. A blessing in that he amassed a fabulous fortune, enough to retire quietly in comfort for several lifetimes. And a curse in that his erstwhile brothers in arms are either dead, indifferent, or sworn to kill him. Shinki saw the dangers in accepting the responsibilities of the throne, but accepted none-the-less. If for no other reason, than to prepare the Halflings for what is to come. The Halfling army has no singular elite units, rather an incredible ability to capitalize upon synergies between troops, nimble traits, and positioning. Shinki personally oversaw the training of his retinue to teach them how to turn their size into advantage over their foes.
